Where are the enclosures manufactured?

The castings are manufactured in overseas factories. The windows are installed in the USA and all final inspection and quality assurance is done in the USA.

Do you offer stopping plugs and adapters for the enclosures?

The enclosures do not come with stopping plugs. However, stopping plugs and an assortment of adapters are available from ExDirect. Contact us for details.

What grade or specification of aluminum is used in the aluminum enclosures?

All aluminum enclosures are made of ASTM A413 LM6 die-cast aluminum, copper-free, enamel coated.

What grade or specification of stainless steel is used in the stainless steel enclosures?

All stainless steel enclosures are made of ASTM A743 CF8M investment-cast 316 Stainless Steel.

Do the enclosures offer tamper-proof seal?

Yes. Located next to the cover jam screw is the tamper-proof seal hole.

Can I attach a stainless steel tag to the enclosure?

Yes. All enclosures come with a loop for easily attaching a stainless steel tag.

How can I pay for my online order?

Payments can be made by credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club International, and JCB.

Can I order a sample quantity of 1 enclosure?

Yes. Orders can be placed online for a quantity of 1 for any standard, stocked enclosure. Small quantities are not available for any custom ordered color or conduit configurations.

What is the typical lead time for these enclosures?

A large stock of finished enclosures, castings, and other parts are maintained in our facility in Hopkinton, MA USA. Lead time for out-of-stock enclosures is 12 to 16 weeks after receipt of order. For OEMs buying standard products that can provide a forecast of their annual usage, we will try to maintain a sufficient stock to meet their needs.

Can any alterations be made to the enclosure such as drilling additional conduit holes?

No. Any modifications made to the enclosure will void the hazardous area approvals.

Are the enclosures available in custom colors?

Yes. A minimum order quantity is required for custom colors and orders are noncancellable and non-returnable. Contact us for details.

What colors are available as custom colors?

Any Pantone color can be specified for custom color enclosure orders. The color may vary slightly from the Pantone sample due to the nature of the paint and enclosures. Contact us for details.

How do I get 3D CAD drawings?

Please download the Confidential Disclosure Terms & Conditions form, fill out, sign and email to [email protected]. We will review your request and provide the files requested upon approval of your request.
